How to Adopt
We only rehome cats to people we've met, so please come and visit us in person — but ring us first on
(03) 9824 7928 or 0418 389 810 to check that your favourite cat is still available. Click here for shelter opening hours and animal viewing hours.

It's Easy to Change Your Cat's Name!
Most of our cats have temporary names given by us or the vet clinics purely for the purpose of paperwork. If you love the name, that's terrific! But if not, feel free to choose the perfect name as soon as you get home. Your cat won't mind a bit and will adapt very quickly!

Our Approach to the Adoption Process
Save-A-Dog Scheme operates as an adoption agency for our dogs and cats. We spend a substantial amount of time getting to know our animals and we try to match each animal's needs with the new home’s needs. We do not work on the same principle as purchasing from a shop or on a 'first come first served' basis. When you visit us, you can be sure we'll do our best to work with you to help find the right companion animal for your home and lifestyle.

Please note: Unfortunately we are unable to accept surrendered cats. If a cat is no longer wanted or cannot be kept for any reason, it is the owner's responsibility to find him/her a new home. If you find a stray cat around your house, please ring the local council who will send a ranger to collect the cat.
