Breeds, ages and names ... we do our best!
We rarely have a reliable history of the animals that come to us. The suggested breeds & ages are stated in good faith and based on our experience over 25 years. Similarly, most dogs arrive without a name tag so they're given temporary names. Feel free to choose a new name & see how quickly your dog adapts!

Dray
Staffordshire Terrier X • Male • ~8 years old

Dray has a lovely personality and he's good with people, other dogs and cats ... and he's already house-trained! He needs a fair bit of company, especially in storms as he's frightened of thunder.

Jessie has a history of being good with children and she's responded really well to training in her foster home. She's looking for a home where her new human companion will be consisent as a pack leader to continue guiding her and developing her training.

Fred is a big bouncy very strong boy. He dotes on people and will need a lot of human company during the day and someone who has the time to dedicate to his training.

Diesel needs to live with another active young dog and preferably with someone who's around a lot. He loves cats and he's mainly toilet trained!

Bobby
Cross Breed • Male • ~18 months old

From Bobby's foster home: Bobby is walking on the lead very well and is very social with other dogs we meet. He's very responsive when called and is a happy gentle dog who is very affectionate. He loves playing with our other dog and they have lots of fun together running about! He definitely needs someone with lots of energy and time to continue his training. Bobby is also house trained.

Max needs a quiet adult home. He has developed special needs since coming to us. Please ring the shelter on (03) 9824 7928 for details. From his foster home: Max has a beautiful personailty! He is very friendly, gentle, quiet, has a placid nature and loves to have a pat and sit close by you. Max loves going for walks and gets along well with all the other dogs in the park. If left on his own, he doesn't bark or whine at all, but keeps himself busy with a bone. I have also found him to be very obedient. I think Max will become very devoted and form a close bond with his new owner/s. He's low maintenance and loves human company. Max is a pleasure to have around!

Ben is a big strong dog who needs a human companion with dog experience. He will probably be happier living as an only dog as his focus is on people. He will need an adult home with someone who has the time to invest in his ongoing training. He is toilet trained and used to being inside.

Snoopy is an active fellow bursting with energy! He'll need a home with another dog who can keep pace with him. He's had basic training and tries very hard to please and he'd be more than happy to continue his training further. If you have an active fun-filled lifestyle that can give Snoopy lots of mental stimulation, he'd love to meet you and your existing canine companion. Snoopy is also toilet trained and will need an adult home with no children.
