Our New Property —
Devon Meadows (near Cranbourne VIC)
.jpg)

Planning is Underway
(March 2008) NEW!
The house at our property is now being
let while we develop our new infrastructure.
We'll soon meet with a town planner from
Casey Council and we've employed our own
planner to start work on our plans.
We Need Your Expertise!
(September 2007)
Our settlement date is just three months
away on December 6th so we're busy working
on plans for developing the shelter building
and related infrastructure. We're very grateful
to be receiving some expert advice to assist
us with town planning and site development
issues. We would very much appreciate any
input or additional offers of expertise
that may help us as we progress into the
design and development of our new infrastructure.
Please contact us on 9885 1188 or 9824 7928
if you may be able to help.
We've bought a property! (June 2007)
Save-A-Dog Scheme has now
contracted to purchase its own property.
With a settlement period of 6 months and
a hefty mortgage, we will soon be launching
a building appeal. Contributions may be
accepted from now on, and all donations
to the appeal will be tax deductible.
The accompanying photos give some idea
of our property which is 6.5 acres in the
Green Wedge Zone further designated as a
“Dog Zone” at Devon Meadows
a few minutes out of Cranbourne.
The address is 29 Cross Road, Devon Meadows.
Melways Ref. 138 C11.
After much consideration, and due to the
limited number of properties available in
the Dog Zone, we have opted to buy the land
and put up our own purpose-built infrastructure.
This is also necessary because no animal
shelters (as opposed to boarding kennels)
have been constructed for a very long time,
and the requirements of the Pound and Shelter
Code and noise limiting precautions require
a very specific approach.
We will need a lot of help in all sorts
of ways to achieve our very own premises,
and we will continue to update the website
with suggestions as to how our supporters
can become involved with this new project.
It is important to reassure everyone that
these new proposals are complementary to
our present state-of-the-art structure which
is provided and owned by Stonnington Council
and operated by Save A Dog Scheme, and that
our own property when operational, will
augment and help our work in conjunction
with our present home.
