Aussie Dog Home Alone

The Aussie Dog Home Alone is a terrific toy to hang outside for your dog's entertainment when he's on his own ... or to re-direct the energy he's currently using to pull washing off the line! Often recommended by animal behaviourists to engage and occupy dogs with separation anxiety. The Home Alone actually 'plays' with your dog by springing back above head-height each time he grabs and releases the thong grip.

The bungie portion of the Home Alone can be left outside permanently, allowing you to attach and remove the ball-and-thong part of the toy whenever you like. We recommend keeping the toy special by hanging it out only at certain times ... perhaps when you go to work or when you hang out the washing.

Note: The Home Alone must be hung from a sturdy support to withstand your dog's pulling action. A strong tree branch, a solidly-built pergola or a steel bracket firmly bolted to a sound 2m fence post are good options. It's important not to hang the toy too low. The idea is for your dog to reach up with his/her front legs well off the ground to grab the thong ... not to sit and chew on it! The ball contains a marble to make great noises ... or you can increase the incentive by adding a handful of dry food or treats which will intermittently drop as your dog pulls on the thong.
